After announcing the first LGBTQ+Press Empowerment grant, six folks applied and six folks have been chosen to be grantees. Let’s all take a moment to celebrate them–dance, raise a toast, smile to yourself, whatever works.
Originally, only four folks were going to be chosen but, thanks to some extra budget planning and discussions, Queeromattic decided to fund all six at the same $500 amount. We were simply too excited to see all six applicants and hope it sets the stage for more folks to apply in the future (and more folks to help fund these opportunities). Thank you to everyone who applied and for those who amplified the opportunity! We can’t wait to see how each grantees WordPress experience evolves and how WordPress evolves alongside them.
